Brass Teacher
I joined the army at 15 serving in the Grenadier Guards as a junior musician at Pirbright, I progressed to the Royal Military School of music Kneller Hall and was taught by professor of trombone Bill Tesky, a former principal of the BBC Symphony orchestra and gained prizes in trombone and string bass.
I was principal euphonium player in the Grenadier Guards band for 5 years and lead trombone in the Big band, Dance band, and Orchestra.
I was also leader of the Regimental Brass Quintet.
I held the position of Principal trombone and soloist in the Concert band.
The role of section leader entailed aspects of teaching and instruction of other members of the band. After completing 24 years service in the Grenadier Guards Band I left in 1995.
I have been Freelancing teaching brass privately and in schools around Kent since 1997
I play Principal trombone with the Royal Yeomanry TA Band in London,
Euphonium/trombone in Lewisham Concert Band,
Principal trombone in the Linden Wind Orchestra
Play in local shows orchestras big bands brass bands and ensembles throughout London and the Southeast
I am also an active member of the British Trombone Society
