Personal Description:
I am an extremely experienced performer, session musician, recording artist and teacher. I have been lucky enough to play professionally all over the world for the last 14 years, alongside some of the worlds leading musicians. I've done everything imaginable related to music and guitar playing from Touring, TV, Radio, 1000's of live performances worldwide, countless bands, artists and styles of music - I even played biggest UK gig of all time - 300'000 people for the Royal Wedding William & Kate in Hyde Park. I've also played at the Dog & Duck to 1 person !

Back in 2000, I studied at Europe's leading school for contemporary musicians, The Academy Of Contemporary Music (ACM) and even graduated with distinction as GUITARIST OF THE YEAR

Alongside my professional playing career I have been busy teaching 100's of people how to play guitar and bass. I take great pleasure in helping others to open the many doors to this amazing instrument. Tutoring Experience:

100's of students and 1000's of hours experience in private tuition. All ages from 5yrs old upwards. Groups, classrooms and one to one. All Styles of music.
Tutoring Approach:

My philosophy on teaching is rooted firmly around the enjoyment of my students. This is because if you enjoy something, the chances are that you're going to do it again, This leads very quickly to improvement. It's simple and effective !

I have 14 years of professional experience as a teacher & guitarist, so rest assured I can help you play any style of music, any technique, any song, scale, lick or trick you'd ever care to learn.

I teach my students to play predominantly "by ear" which means you'll learn to express your musical personality everywhere, at anytime. This may sound complicated now, but trust me it's an enjoyable and brilliant way to learn land play.

I also offer support for students who want to go through their "grades" or gain any certificates for their playing. I have guitars that anyone is welcome to borrow during lesson times, so if you're not sure whether you want to buy one straight away, feel free to have a couple of taster lessons before committing to a purchase of your own guitar. Budget guitars today are much better than they used to be, and are surprisingly affordable... £40-50 will buy you your first acoustic or electric guitar / bass if you shop about. I am more than willing to advise & help any students find a good guitar within their budget.

I also encourage my students to learn about music theory, but what I teach is not the boring stuff you might remember from school or have heard others talking about! Theory is a word people are scared of when they think about learning music.... "Maths" holds the same fear for me! But I promise you it is amazing, easy, useful and fun! Music theory can open the doors to so many different things for you... new music, new instruments, even new cultures and countries. I have been inspired to travel to several different countries as a direct result of learning the theory, sounds and techniques used in other forms of music!

How long will it take me to get good?

There's no substitute for spending time with your instrument, so my goal is to help you to enjoy every moment of that time, and inspire you to play more. I don't like to use the word "practice" as that suggests something boring, or a task that must be completed. Thats not the way we're going to do things. We're going to enjoy guitar playing... Not practice !
