I, Ms Avni Varia, am taking an opportunity to reach out to larger audience and share my life story and aspirations.
At present I am a freelance Design Consultant for art, craft, design and development projects. Outgoing by nature, it is my zeal to travel and explore life, by interacting with interesting people and placing myself in new situations.

With a strong and varied design education, followed by eleven years of professional experience, I have worked in various capacities, including faculty for basic fashion and graphics skills, project planner and manager, product and garment designer, documentation person, etc.

I am appreciative, respectful and fascinated by my Indian cultural heritage and its interconnections to arts and crafts. In the era of globalization, I believe it is imperative to contribute to the survival, maintenance and enhancement of diverse and unique world cultures.
I look forward to sharing my knowledge of Indian culture and its arts and crafts traditions, as well as exploring international collaborations and partnerships.

My short term goal is to study abroad, gaining international experience and opportunities, which will help my personal and professional growth. Exposure to a world class education, knowledge of modern resources, and networking with people from all over the world will enable me to pursue my long term goal which is to devote my professional life for development of the traditional arts and crafts sector in India, while empowering sustainable economic and social change.
