Carol Maguire
I teach yoga in small friendly classes in village halls in the Stroud & Stonehouse area. The aim of my classes is to make the practice enjoyable & relaxing so you are encouraged to work as gently as you like or to go for the full challenge! I welcome men & women of all levels, abilities, shapes and ages to my classes without any competitiveness.
My qualifications include a B.Ed (Music) and a 200 hour in-depth Dru Yoga Teacher training. Dru Yoga is affiliated to The International Yoga Alliance and the Register of Independent Yoga Teachers.
Since completing my training in December 2010 I have continued my professional development and training with many different teachers of international renown, including workshops led by Liz Lark, David Procyshyn and Daniel Head.
In May 2015 I completed a 50 hour Therapeutic Yoga Teacher Training with J.Brown at Studio Yin Helsinki.I am at present taking a Yoga Anatomy Course led by world-renowned physical therapist, Dr Paula Gelbart.
Before becoming a full time yoga teacher I taught for 28 years in Special Education, introducing yoga to the curriculum in my last job with the Gloucestershire Pupil Referral Service.
I offer therapeutic yoga to adults & children with learning disabilities, stroke victims and acquired brain injuries.I offer both regular weekly classes and one-off workshops to both children and adults with learning disabilities.I offer corporate yoga with regular classes or one-off workshops tailored to the needs of your employees or colleagues.
You may feel stressed and think that you are too tired to exercise but will be surprised by how much Yoga can help you on so many levels.
