Hi - I'm Chris Raven, and I'd like to teach you how to play the guitar.

I cater for absolute beginners of any age (you're never too old to start learning!), and can operate within a 30 mile radius of York, incorporating Harrogate, Tadcaster Leeds, Selby, Thirsk.

Whatever style you're interested in, Pop, Rock, Indie, Twelve String Slide Blues, I can get you started on a pathway to learning a very enjoyable and rewarding instrument to play.

I'm happy to teach electric or acoustic, and can provide equipment if necessary.

My experience...

I've been playing the guitar for more than a decade, and have been involved in a number of projects and bands throughout the country.

I've put together a great beginners tuition curriculum that can be adapted to suit anyone who wants to start learning the guitar.

My unique approach to teaching the guitar is hands on straightaway, with demonstrably quick progress in most cases, with a focus on building a long term interest in the instrument.

I can offer tuition at your convenience, in the comfort of your own home, or you are welcome to come to my prepared session room, complete with a selection of guitars, resources and equipment to faciliate learning.

The best way to keep interested in guitar is to play things you want to - we encourage our students to think about a few of their favourite songs to start learning, right from the outset.

Even while you're getting to grips with the basics, it's great to have a goal in mind that you'd like to be able to play. The first time you string together a set of chords to sound something like your chosen song - you're elated!
