Colin is a very experienced and professionally qualified guitarist. Stylistically he can cover anything from the traditional classical instrument through jazz and pop to blues, rock and metal. His own playing experience ranges from local performances to open-air festivals, solo recitals and musicals.
As well as running his private practice in York, Colin gives regular workshops at York's premiere guitar store, MOR music, and is currently electric guitar tutor for the University of York.
Colin's approach varies greatly depending on what the student requires. Though a common thread that runs through just about all of his teaching is ensuring the student has a theoretical understanding of what they are trying to apply practically. This eventually enables the student to keep evolving as a player without requiring a constant stream of outside input, therefore encouraging musical individuality.
