SUMMER ART SCHOOL. Colour, Land and Sea.

FIND YOUR WAY IN ART THIS SUMMER!!!

Beginning with an introduction to colour theory, this course will guide students from 'objetive' colour studies -mixing the colours we see- towards a more personal and creative use of colour. Studies will be produce in mixed media (pastel and collage), as well as in acrylic and oil paints, o location in the Scottish Borders and the coast of East Lothian.

There will be lessons on the colour wheel, the use of complementaries and exercises in transforming palettes and colour schemes. We will draw inspiration from the simplified realism of Edward Hopper's land and seascapes and the more complex and instinctive visions of Bonnard. Other presentations will look at the expressive use of colour in the more recent landscapes of David Hockney.
