My name is Daoud Merchant, and I am a London based drummer / percussionist. I graduated from the Jazz and Classical Percussion course at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with a 1st Class BMus (Hons). This year I was also delighted to be awarded the Yamaha Jazz Scholarship for Outstanding Jazz Musicians. I have played in various jazz clubs in London, including the 606, the Vortex and Charlie Wright’s International Jazz Club. As well as playing in music festivals in the UK and abroad, I have recorded for television / radio broadcast and CD release.

For the last 6 years I have provided productive, professional and (most of all) enjoyable tuition to people of all ages and abilities, whether they consider drums a casual hobby or wish to pursue it as a career. As well as tailoring my tuition to each pupil through discussing their aims and needs, I provide my own unique high quality visual and aural learning materials.

I am happy to teach at the pupil's residence / studio, otherwise I can provide a professional standard drum kit at my residence in Turnpike Lane (6 mins from the station).
