I'm in the process of moving to Edinburgh from Cork, Ireland, via Exeter. I've been teaching Irish music since 2003 - privately, in small group classes, in school classroom groups, and at university level (as Flute Tutor for University College Cork), as well as a tutor at the prestigious Scoil Éigse workshops, run by Comhaltas Ceoltóirí Éireann each summer. From 2003 to 2004, I lived in the US, and taught and performed Irish music there as an Artist In Residence for the Central Missouri Celtic Arts Association.

As a performer, I have over 10 years of experience, playing in sessions, on concert stages, in competitions and for exams, as well as a number of Irish television appearances.

I hold an MA(Hons) in Ethnomusicology with a specialisation in Irish music, as well as a BMus(Hons) in Music and Musicianship, and a BA-Mus(Hons) in Music and Italian. I will also be starting a PhD in music in 2014. I am happy to teach and discuss the theoretical background to Irish music, and I have expertise in classical music as well as a range of non-Western performance traditions.

If you're interested in lessons, I'm your person! :)
