Flavia Valente

I am the principal piccolo and aslo flute player in the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra and I enjoy teaching flute and piccolo to students of all levels.

I finished my master degree in Switzerland in 2017 with dinstinction, where I had flute lessons with the dutch flutist Jacques Zoon (ex solo flute of Berlin Philharmonic and of Royal Concertgebouw, currently solo flute in Lucerne Festival), piccolo with Jerica Pavli (piccolo solo in Orchestre de la Suisse Romande) and baroque flute with Serge Saita.
I have done several solo recitals and chamber music concerts, and played several times solo with orchestra. I also have played with orchestras of all kinds: baroque orchestras (with historic instruments), classical and symphonic orchestras and contemporary ensembles.

When it comes to teaching, from 2008 to 2013 I was a teacher in a local band in Portugal, where I taught mainly beginners. In my period in Switzerland (2015-2017) I was often a substituite teacher also for beginners and intermediate level students, and from 2017 I started teaching mainly students who are on bachelor and in master.

I can give both private lessons and group lessons. I can give lessons in Portuguese, English and French.

If it is your first lesson with me I give you a 10€ discount. Other durations can be agreed. The class will be ideally at the student's place, but if that is not possible I can arrange a place for the lesson.
