I am a 7th generation disciple and heir of the Lu family Mizong system training directly under Grand Master Lu Jun Hai since 1999. I have been involved in sports to one degree or another over the past 40 years training in, competing in and gaining accolades in a variety of common western sports. A majority of this time was spent training and playing with professional football clubs as a schoolboy. It was in 1989 that I discovered the martial arts, in particular Muay Thai and western kick boxing, along with this I began my daily study of meditation, Yoga practice and trained in as many varied martial arts and with as many people as I could including, doormen, military personnel, street fighters and martial artists of different styles from novices to European champions and became known for my powerful kicks and fast hands.
It was after suffering my second knee injury which required surgery that I began looking for more advanced tuition and came across the then 58 year old Master Lu Jun Hai teaching Shaolin Mizong Kung Fu and Yang style Tai Chi Chuan. I trained with Master Lu four to five times a week, at times getting up at 3am to fit in more training before work.
I continue to train with Master Lu and was fortunate enough to be chosen as a 7th generation disciple and heir in 2004 and compete at national and world level, becoming a 4 x British kung fu champion and gaining 5 gold medals at the world championships in Shanghai in 2010.
I continue to train and evolve my understanding of the disciplines that I teach and have so far gained the following accreditation: Coach level 2, PTLLS level 3, Hatha Yoga teacher Diploma, Reiki master/teacher, Member of the British Council for Chinese Martial Arts.
