Graham Pritchard
Graham Pritchard began the serious study of meditation in 1976. In 1991 he began to study Chinese internal martial arts. Initially he studied in a rare and traditional system known as Wu-Ji. This 5,000-year-old internal martial art can be traced back to the Shaolin temple in China.
After over 4 years of studying this esoteric art Graham found Yang style Tai Chi and immersed himself in this study under the expert tuition of Tai Chi and Kung Fu Gold medallist Andrew Austin.
Now, with over 17 years of practice of internal arts he continues to study with his teacher and other famous Tai Chi masters.
In 1996 Graham's teacher invited him to start teaching his own Tai Chi classes.
Graham has also studied in Choy Lai Fut, Wing Chun and traditional Kung Fu systems. These days his focus is purely upon Tai Chi Chuan.
In 2002 Graham received a distinction for his performance of the 24 forms Yang routine from Professor Li Deyin (one of the hundred most treasured martial arts masters in China).
In 2005 Graham received his second distinction from Professor Li Deyin for his performance of Tai Chi Kung Fu fan.
In 2007 Graham received his third distinction from Professor Li for his performance of the 88 forms of Yang style
In 2007 Graham also received an Instructors Distinction with the MASTARR National Training Programme.
In 2008 Graham was awarded a Commitment and Contribution Award for his dedication to Chinese Martial Arts by Zheng Dao Lo Martial Arts Academy.
In 2009 Graham was awarded a Dedication & Loyalty award by Zheng Dao Lo Martial Arts Academy for teaching thousands of people Tai Chi & Qigong since 1996.
He has made appearances on radio, T.V, and local papers.
He has this to say about his teaching method: "Most of the people who attend my classes do so because they want to feel calm, relaxed and healthy in body, mind and spirit. "They want to practice an exercise system that is not destructive to their bodies and one which they can continue to practice into old age; enjoying the grace, wisdom and balanced perspective that regular practice of Tai Chi offers.
The heart of Tai Chi, as I see it and teach it, is a spiritual way of being."
Graham is a member and teacher of Zheng Dao Lo Martial Arts Academy, Longfei Taijiquan Association of Great Britain and the British National Martial Arts Association. He is also an Accredited Instructor of the English Dao Yin Yang Sheng Gong Association.
