I am Mrs Violin. I play freelance with orchestras like City of London Sinfonia and Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra; I do smaller chamber concerts mainly in the south east but have travelled as far as Finland, Italy and France to do this too and I lead an amateur/semi-professional orchestra in Kingston. I also get involved with outreach work, leading on workshops or doing participatory concerts.

I teach violin to all ages and abilities and have been heavily involved with teaching primary-age children, both individually and in groups. This covers teaching basic musicianship as well as violin and multi-instrument ensemble.

Learning an instrument is a great way into music and as you progress you may want to discover more about the bigger picture too which is why, as a Cambridge Music graduate, I am offering musicianship and theory tuition as well as violin. My students always pass their ABRSM Grade exams, often getting Merit or Distinction. If you would prefer not to do exams that is fine of course!

THE SMALL PRINT

I ask that a learner signs up for at least five lessons and pays in advance. I will give a trial lesson before the learner signs up for a series.

If the learner cancels with 24 hours notice I will endeavour to rearange the time of the lesson. If I have to cancel the lesson I will rearrange it with the learner and if this is not possible, will give a complete refund of the fee for that lesson.

I am also willing to give "one-off" lessons.
