Jaclyn Lewis
Hello! I am a young classically trained singer and also an experienced teacher. I teach singing in relaxed and enjoyable way as I feel that this is the most effective way for everyone to find the most effective way to explore their voice.
I have been giving private singing lessons for three years, varying through all ages and levels of ability from young beginners to coaching peers at university level, to working with adults who want to get into singing for fun. As a private peripatetic teacher I have taught students who want to sing for fun, work towards taking examinations, concerts, or work with students who are preparing for music college or university auditions.
At Bath Spa University in my final year I was vocal coach on a thesis piece (Spring awakening) for a performing arts graduate's final piece of work - for this I had to teach and then coach the individual members of the cast on all of their solos and chorus numbers, working as a teacher and with the MD and the Director.
I also have classroom teaching experience - GCSE and A-level lessons - during work experience placements - during this time I also gave individual and one-to-one singing lessons to BTEC students in preparation for their performance assessments. I have also worked in schools as a teaching assistant on music tours abroad, assisting with the teaching of music and then with the participation of the tour.
I consider myself a teacher who can adapt to the differing needs of a range of students, so if you are looking for lessons please feel free to get in touch.
I am based in central Birmingham (B1), I am able to teach from my flat in the city centre or I am able to travel to your home (travel costs will be discussed) I also have a studio which I can teach from in Meriden so I can tech near Coventry or again travel to homes if that is more convenient.
If you have any questions, queries or are interested in starting lessons please feel free to contact me.
