Jeff Grant
My name is Jeff Grant. I first fell in love with the guitar and guitar playing in the early sixties watching The Beatles and The Shadows on TV. I was fascinated by the shape and sound of the instruments and also the technology involved in transferring the sound from a plucked string to an audience either by acoustic or electric means. I got my first guitar at the age of ten - it had three strings and I didn't know where to obtain new strings let alone tune it so it stayed like that for some length of time. When I eventually had a guitar with six strings bought for me a few years later for Christmas I had to unlearn everything I had worked out and relearn it properly ! The next step was an electric guitar - very cheap and very difficult to play ! Oh ! and no amp ! I could afford one or the other but not both ! But still it was my pride and joy. I gradually traded up and obtained an amp, then joined a band then started gigging.
Over the years I have played hundreds of gigs in many bands in many styles of music. I have released a mini album Blues Road, appeared on local and internet radio, played the smallest pubs to large bike rallies and festivals with audiences of thousands.
