Joanna Heath
I am currently studying for a music degree at Durham University (St John's College) so would be able to tutor in Durham during termtime and Ashby de la Zouch during holidays. I am especially looking for students who would like to study intensively for a week or two during the summer as it is difficult for me to offer regular weekly lessons, although I would make every effort to make this possible if that is needed.
I have a DipABRSM in bassoon performance and have wide experience with orchestras both professional and amateur as well as with youth music in Surrey, Leicestershire and Birmingham. In Durham I am in Durham University Orchestral Society where I also serve on the executive committee. I am keen to teach bassoon from beginner to advanced level if the student has an instrument for practice.
I play piano (grade 8 dstinction) and recorder to a high standard and am prepared to teach these from beginner to intermediate level. I can teach music theory up to grade 8 standard, for ABRSM exams or just for anyone interested in learning more about how music works, or even just how to read music! Having studied music at GCSE, A level and now degree level, I have a broad understanding of a range of musical styles and issues in musicology.
