Katy Markey

I am 27 years old and have been performing since the age of 4 and am now a teacher in the 3 main performing arts disciplines - dance, drama and singing. Having lived most of my life in Brighton, I also trained in London at the prestigious Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts, and have taught in several other countries including Australia and Canada.

I balance performing with teaching, and most recently played the Wicked Queen in Snow White. I am the Singing Tutor for theatre arts school, Stagecoach Hove, and run a theatre company, City Youth Theatre Company and have my own production company, Buxbaum Productions. Buxbaum Productions recently staged a hugely successful production of the musical Little Me, with all proceeds going to Chestnut Tree House children's hospice, a charity that I continue to do much work for in raising both awareness and funds.

I have been teaching dance, drama and singing, and been choreographing, for a number of years and was the resident choreographer for React Productions in Brighton for 5 years. I began my teaching experience at the age of 16 at The Doris Isaacs School of Dance in Brighton (where I had trained myself) and went on to teach for the J.D and Splitz Schools of Dance, taking the position as Principal for one year.

I am also one half of the newly formed company, Wonderland Entertainment, offering a wide variety of entertainment for any event from stag/hen dos and weddings to corporate events and private parties.
