Keith Graham
Keith Graham has been a student of Tai Chi and Buddhism since 1980 and is Hon Vice president and registered as a senior instructor of Yang Style Tai Chi & Chi Gong with the Tai Chi Union of Great Britain.
Over a 30 year span Keith has studied with many wonderful martial artists and meditation masters. Using Tai Chi principles he has competed and won medals in Judo, Sumo, Kung Fu and Brazilian Jui Jitsu and is the current British Tai Chi open weight Push Hands champion, a title he has held on 11 previous occasions.
As a Certified Rolfer and Movement practitioner, Keith has a unique approach to teaching, a clear understanding of functional anatomy and of the spiritual and emotional components which influence how we move through our world. Using Tai Chi as the vehicle, you will begin a journey which may transform your whole life! or at the very least will take you a little further along the path of self discovery.
“Tai Chi is a complete system through which we can achieve balance, good health, peace of mind and happiness. It is not necessary however, to learn hundreds of complicated techniques. A simple and sincere exploration of the basic elements of stillness, movement, and breathing, are sufficient to deepen our awareness of who we are and to free the mind and body from unconscious restrictions which limit full expression of our true nature.”
Learn Tai Chi in a Weekend
An introduction to Ta Lu with Keith Graham
A two-day workshop suitable for men and women of all ages
and levels of experience
Ta Lu is said to comprise the 13 original postures of the very first Tai Chi form as taught by the13th century Taoist monk Chang Sang Feng. From this simple, yet profound sequence came the more elaborate and much longer forms of Tai Chi that we see practiced by thousands of people around the world today.
Ta Lu can be practiced as:
• A slow, moving meditation to relieve stress and calm the mind
• An invigorating solo exercise for aerobic fitness
• A movement re-education exercise to improve body awareness, posture and balance
• A subtle and powerful two-person sparing set to deepen understanding of how to fully meet the energy of others without losing your own equilibrium. (This is a very effective self protection method for therapists or anyone who encounters potentially harmful energy on a daily basis)
Ta Lu can be learned in a few hours and mastered at your leisure over a lifetime.
