Lindsey Tyson
Working from my studio in Scarborough, I hold monthly workshops, weekly art and textile classes, as well as giving demonstrations, and teaching part time for the WEA and a local college in the Life Long Learning department.
I also like to create - luxurious felt wraps, shrugs and scarves, felt vessels, and artwork in a number of mediums and sell to shops and galleries.
With regards to my own work, I hate sticking to one medium, and like to push materials beyond their percieved limits, always experimenting and exploring different materials and combinations. I am constantly inspired - there is never enough time to explore all the wonderful possibilities.
My aim is to encourage and inspire others to take the plunge and explore their own creative urges, and to have a go! Especially those who feel they lack imagination, or confidence.
We are all unique individuals, and so is our work. I can teach you the techniques, and help you to use your own imagination so use them in your own unique way.

Experience
Experience and Qualifications
I have a first class hons Degree in Textile design, and a distinction in Art Foundation. I am in my final year of a PGCE, and in addition to my own workshops and weekly classes, I teach part time at a local college in Life Long Learning and for the WEA.
I worked in the textile industry for over ten years, leaving to follow my own creative urge and to share my knowledge with others.
Although a specialist in Jacquard weaving, feltmaking has now taken over as my dominant medium. I constantly update my skills by going on various courses.
I have a lifetime experience of being creative, and am very experimental and explorative in my approach.
