Marit Falt
I have just finished my undergraduate at Newcastle University in Folk and Traditional Music, where I was awarded the highest performance mark ever given. I am now beginning my teaching career in Edinburgh and further afield.
I am an experienced teacher, having taught across Europe and in the UK. I have also engaged in courses specifically focused on education when completing my music degree. I work full time as a freelance musician and gig with the winner of the BBC Radio Scotland Young Traditional Musician of the Year, Rona Wilkie, and am in a trio with Catriona Macdonald and Patsy Reid.
I specialise in Celtic (especially Scottish), Americana, Scandinavian music as well as pop/rock and singer/songwriter accompaniment. I also teach theory alongside - focusing on putting the theory into practice in order to fully understand the music we are working on.
I aim to tailor every lesson to the individual students need.
I teach guitar for beginners and intermediate students.
I teach mandos (mandolin, mandola, octave mandolin), bouzouki and Cittern for beginners, intermediate and advanced students.
