I am a UK TEFL Advanced Certificate holder, with 40 hours Ofqual certified TEFL training, a degree and Certificate in Education, 15 years general teaching and over 3 years ESOL teaching experience from Elementary to Advanced. I provide individual tuition, distance learning and group Masterclasses to ESL learners overseas across a range of ages and levels for Spoken ESOL, Written English and for a range of Speech and Drama examinations. For the past 3 years I have coached students from Hong Kong for the Hong Kong Speech Festival and, in addition, adjudicate for Speech Festivals held across Sri Lanka organised by the CJ Overseas Academy and International Language School in Colombo.

I have examined spoken and marked written ESOL examinations on location twice in Sri Lanka since the first overseas branch of New Era Academy launched in October 2010. Prior to this I developed their new English Language Written Examinations Syllabus and wrote the Spoken English component of the accompanying Spoken and Written Theory Handbook for teachers. The syllabus range currently covers Pre-Entry and Levels 1-6, including Associate and Licentiate Diplomas in Teaching English as a Second Language and Teaching Speech and Drama.

I have adjudicated for the 2nd and 3rd Colombo International Speech Festivals, with regional heats held across Sri Lanka including Kandy, Batticaloa, Colombo and Nuwara-Eliya.

I have taught Speech and Performance subjects extensively in Senior Independent,Further and Adult Education sectors, Performance Academies and in arts, community and corporate environments. Syllabuses taught include Trinity Guildhall Higher Diploma in Professional Musical Theatre (level 6), Performing Arts A Level and AS, BTEC National Performing Arts, LAMDA Performance and Communications examinations and Ofqual and QCF accredited New Era Academy examinations in English as a Second Language, Interview Technique, Public Speaking, Reading, Verse Speaking, Speech and Drama and Acting (UK and abroad).

I currently examine at a range of venues and provide one to one ESL and Voice and Performance tuition both in my own home and on-line.

For the past 3 years I have coached students on-line for the Hong Kong Speech Festival, with many returning each year for further tuition and with improving results at each Festival.

I also adjudicate on location at the Colombo International Speech Festivals, with regional heats held across Sri Lanka including Kandy, Batticaloa, Colombo and Nuwara-Eliya. The categories include TV News Reading, Public Speaking,Storytelling, Verse speaking, Reading and Drama.

DOWNE HOUSE Speech and Drama Co-ordinator

Subject teacher and administrative co-ordinator for boarding and day girls aged 11-18 years for the full range of LAMDA group and individual exams offered at Downe House, including the LAMDA Performance and Communication Awards for highest aggregate across a range of disciplines at Advanced level.

International Students formed a major component of learners and included Russian, French, Chinese, Hong Kong Chinese and Korean.

In addition to excellent LAMDA examination results girls also contributed to annual Speech and Drama showcase days and Literary Festivals held in house.

Over 3 years ESOL teaching and consultanacy experience from Elementary to Advanced. In Sri Lanka I provide group Masterclasses to ESL teachers and examine a range of Spoken English subjects(levels pre-entry to level 6 inclusive), Elementary to Advanced, for Spoken ESOL, Written English and for a range of Speech and Drama examinations which are Ofqual accredited and on the UCAS tariff.
