Matthew Bower

My name is Matt Bower and I am a passionate Teacher and Private Tutor based in Plymouth. For peace of mind I am registered with the CRB and possess an Enhanced Disclosure available to view.

I have been teaching full-time since 2004 within Primary Education and then I also moved into private tuition. I dedicate time on working closely with my students, making sure they have an excellent foundation on which to build and the best opportunity to learn. I tutor primarily for the 11 plus entrance exams in Maths, English and Verbal Reasoning skills. Students looking to gain entry into Devonport High School for Boys, Devonport High School for Girls, or Plymouth High School use my tuition services and generally come from the Plymouth area, but may also travel from Tavistock, Ivybridge, The South Hams, Torpoint and Saltash areas.

I offer group tuition to children one year prior to taking their 11+ exam. Groups consist of no more than 5 students. Of significant interest to me are the successes and positive results that tuition can have for children. I provide a clear focus to learning, supporting and guiding a pupil along the way to maximise the chance of success.
