Mia Droschler
I am an art tutor with a key interest and passion to create a nice and supportive environment for my students to raise their awareness in their art making and to develop their skills within their media.
I have students with different interests and motivations ranging from preparing portfolios to universities, to students wishing to improve their talent in their already existence as artist on all levels.
My approach is to create an awareness of the student's interest and have therefore not only a focus on the craft but further a focus on the subject matter.
I have been working as a private tutor, both on an individual basis and running workshops for smaller groups for the past two years. I hope to expand the number of my students, as I really do enjoy the conversations with these, and to follow the development in their practice. My own media is paintings, but I do also have a deep understanding for other media, such as video and 3D objects having a degree in multimedia design and working in a theatre for six years as a stage designer.
Normally I travel to the student's home or studio as well as running tutorials and workshops from my own studio Glasgow.
Please send an e-mail with any questions you may have in order to find the right tutor for you.
Looking forward hearing from you.

Creative Saturdays
Come and enjoy Creative Saturdays in the West End of Glasgow to develop
your skills as a painter.
All levels of experience are welcome, as the work shop is based on
individual tutorials within a group of 8-10 participants. As a tutor I will
provide support based on your own ideas in a friendly dialogue where we
will discuss composition, colour and subject matter to strengthen your
understanding and painting craftsmanship. This highly positive and flexible
teaching method will allow you to fully connect with your own personal
creativity without the boundaries associated with assigned exercises.

My profile
In my own practice I engage with creating large scale colourful paintings with nature as a subject matter seeking to describe complex, deep and abstract layers in the human psyche mixing political and social comments with well-known
archetypes of dream images.
This painting is a ‘cut out’ of a 300 x 200 cm paintingfrom the series ‘The Forest Within; based on a trip to the jungle in Borneo.
