I have been teaching mandarin for years, and it is always a joy watching students speaking my language and enjoy it.
I believe that learning a language can be fun (meaning, not necessary sitting in the classroom staring at the whiteboard) and everything around us can be used as teaching material. Language is something to pick up from our daily life.
I have the passion of teaching, and my ways of teaching is not only (but included) sitting down reading book, but also walking around applying the learnt lessons and attending Chinese events (e.g. MarJiang fun, making dumplings or so)

Finding a suitable teacher/student is not always 100% guaranteed. Good doesn't mean it's suitable for you (e.g. style of learning or attitude) - this applied to both teacher and student.
So a basic communication in the beginning is very important and it helps to find out if the match is a helper, or a stopper.
