Rachael Whawell

I am a qualified teacher with a PGCE in Music with Specialist Strings Teaching (RNCM & MMU). I also have a Postgraduate Certificate in Performance and a Bachelor’s degree in Music with Honours, both from the Royal Northern College of Music.

I teach Violin and Viola from my home studio to students of all ages and abilities.

I hold a Dalcroze Eurhythmics teaching certificate and teach classes regularly. I like to incorporate aspects of Dalcroze Eurythmics and Kodaly aural training to enhance and enrich musicianship and string playing.

I have a large and varied amount of experience in performance, playing in a professional and non-professional capacity in orchestras and string quartets.

I currently perform regularly in a jazz rock fusion quartet and also work as a session musician.
