Hi, my name is Richard Shaw and I'm a freelance animator.
I hope to begin running children's animation workshops in schools and after school clubs, as well as one on one software tuition for young people and adults.
Animation workshops are suitable for children aged 5-11 and I can offer anything from stop motion to basic live action/CGI compositing. Projects can vary in length from a few hours to several months.
Tuition is only suitable for complete beginners. I'm mainly experienced with After Effects, but can also offer an introduction to Photoshop and 3ds Max.
As I'm just starting out I'd be happy to work for a very reasonable fee (plus material/travel/accommodation expenses where applicable) anywhere in the UK.

I have painted several children's wall murals for friends and family in their homes. In 2004 I volunteered to paint three large murals for my local junior school.
I am not a qualified teacher/playworker. However, I regularlly look after my nieces and nephews and intend to gain a relevant qualification in the future.
Also, I don't currently have a CRB certificate as individuals can't apply for a check on themselves. However, I would be more than happy to undergo an enhanced check.
