Hello, my name is Sean Barker, I am a pianist/clarinetist from Seattle, WA, in the U.S.

I have extensive experience in performance and teaching with both piano and clarinet, with advanced degrees in each. For the last two years I was a teaching assistant at the University of Montana teaching music theory and appreciation courses, as well as piano lessons and clarinet lessons. Prior to that I was in Seattle for 6 years, teaching 45 students a week, all ages and all levels of ability, from beginners to advanced, professional to hobby players. My students consistently scored highest marks in contests and I was awarded the Graduate Teaching Award for the University of Montana for 2008-2009. I have extensive experience performing both as a soloist and orchestral musician.

I'm here in Berlin to continue teaching and to continue furthering my own studies in this city that is so full of great music. I am a passionate and dedicated teacher and I hope to build a successful group of students here in Berlin.

Lessons are in English, or if you don't mind not so great German I can teach in that language as well :) For now only available to travel for lessons, but hope to have a studio space before too long.
