“My love of sewing and teaching have led me to form the Birmingham School of Sewing. Classes are small and are designed for absolute beginners and experienced sewers wishing to improve their skills. It is a wonderful experience to meet people who have never threaded a sewing machine leaving at the end of a one day workshop with the tote bags that they have made, and to see the expressions of disbelief on their faces, that they have actually learned how to sew and made a bag all in one day. At the other end of the spectrum I am teaching one to one lessons to qualified women with degree’s in textiles and fashion who want to learn how to produce garments to a high standard in order to made bespoke garments to clients, or to set up their own business. I think I now how the most wonderful job that I could possibly have.”
