GUITAR TUITION FOR ENTHUSIASTIC LEARNERS OF ALL LEVELS AND ABILITIES

I teach one-to one, in small groups (either arranged by you or by myself)and when demand is there larger groups sessions as well as one-off workshops by request.

In teaching guitar to people of all ages abilities over the years I have become better and better able to help new learners past the initial hurdles when otherwise they might have given up. I believe that musicallity resides within us all and often getting steady on the instrument has as much to do with finding our personal connection to it...for some it is more rhythmical, for some more melodic, for example...as it has to do with any standard learning tree.

I take popular song of all types, suggested by you or by myself and we approach the music in any way we are yet able, aiming at a satisfying musical experience from the start, and then going further into techniques and skills that will hopefully enable you to get your hands around more and more of the music that inspires you, and/or equip you to write music of your own.

I teach from absolute zero to as far as you want to go. I am a full time performing musician and songwriter playing top flight venues (as well as total dives:)and constantly learning myself as per gig demands.

I have infinite patience for anyone wh has a passion to be playing.

My rates for lessons are as follows:

one-to-one: £20 an hour

small groups...two or three: £15 each for 90 minutes

goups of four or more: £15 each for two hours

these rates are based on you comming to me (in Highgate) or with the larger groups at venues in holloway highbury or islington area

Group Classes

Group Guitar Class

This group began in November 2011 as a beginners session but has continued and flourished, with a slightly mixed level as pr new arrivals...it' roughly lower intrmediate/intermediate to put a name on it.

We take a variety of popular and traditional songs weekly and play as a group (albeit a guitr group!). Attention is given to rhythm, background theory...but not a brain-out, and embelishment/soloing, but with maximumemphasis on groove and timing, whatever the music.
