“Whether you are familiar with the musical theatre or you are an actor wishing to broaden your skills and working potential, my approach is not about improving the sound you make when you sing.

It is about creating an effective performance, acted as fully as any monologue, which happens to be set within a musical structure.

We concentrate on breaking down a song into all its components. We analyze the lyric, learn how to develop a subtext (and how this creates your body language), work through the music, discuss and create a dynamic shape, and deal with focus, technique, etc…
Once you can learn to recognize what to do with your material and what questions to ask yourself, you can then choose your interpretation of any song and develop a performance that is uniquely your own."

Please bring with you a song you know well enough to work on.
