i started training in Tae kwon Do in 1997 training with the global tae kwon do under Mr Adrian Gent at Finedon. After an intial phone call to ask about training for my son who was 9 years old at the time. Who was keen to learn martial arts .

Adrian said why dont you come along and give it a go. I had always done a bit of training at other martial arts over the years but never took to it properly. I thought I was too old now but he convinced me I would be ok. Training was pretty hard at first mainly because I had turned fourty and hadnt done any serious physical training for 10 years or more. But after a while I started to get into training and started to believe that if I pushed myself mentally and phsically I could get that black belt that students aspire for

On Oct 2000 I was rewarded with my 1st degree, both myself and my son graded on the same day under the watchful eyes of Master Roy Oldam 7th degree. It was a pretty gruelling day for all concerned but at the end I felt that I had the right to wear a black belt and be proud to know that I had earned it .

In June of 2001 I opened my club at Earls Barton and Finedon Club became my next addition in 2004.In 2006 we moved from finedon to wellingborough and again to a different dojang in 2007 where we are now

In 2006 I gained my 2nd degree ( I tend not rush into things these days)

All this would not have been possible if I had not had help from the people I have trained under over the last ten years. Which include Grand Master park Jung Tae 9th degree, Master Roy Oldam 8th degree, & my good friends Adrian Gent 4th degree, & Ron Deny 4th degree.
