I have been a professional drummer for over 30 years , previously as a player now predominantly as a tutor. I set up junk4funk , my little company , over a year ago to explore the possibilities of making music on junk/re-cycled items. junk4funk was invited down to London to perform/facilitate as part of the opening ceremony for the Cultural Olympiad ("Molton Festival" , Barking) I work for schools and council environmental departments , encouraging participants , mostly children , to make and then play musical instruments from re-cycled/waste sources - e.g Cardboard Boxes (Guitars) Plastic Bottles (Shakers) Drinking Straws (Pitch Pipes) I was particularly busy last summer with Workshops in London , Lincoln, Harrow , Melton Mowbray , Nottingham etc. etc. Next major project is in St.Albans.
