Euxton
[ Address incorrect? Let us know. ]
The present Euxton library opened its doors in 1966. In the 1940s the library was housed in a cottage on the main road. Women's Institute members distributed the books. When the cottage was sold a librarian came from Leyland to the C of E School with boxes of books three times a week. As the village developed, the library moved to a hostel, but when that was demolished, a travelling library brought books to the village, until the present library was opened.
