Private Tuition ought to be entirely flexible and built around the needs and goals of the student. It thus requires a highly individual, bespoke approach. My tutoring style is thus adaptable and tailored to each person. I strive to give each student the best possible advantage in their studies and future life plans.
I studied Psychology at AS/A2 Level to A grade and then pursued my interest in the subject within a Combined Honours Degree at Durham University. Sessions are tailored towards the individual and their areas of difficulty. My expertise lends itself more to the AQA syllabus although I have also taught the OCR syllabus.
I mix core psychological concepts with more general study skills and encourage each student to find their own way of independent learning. Goals, objectives and desired grades are outlined at the start followed by the creation of a schedule leading towards these achievements. This schedule forms the basis of future sessions which are broken down into achievable step by step objectives. Areas of weakness are identified and worked on throughout the course of tuition with exam technique and essay writing style frequently focussed on.

I have extensive notes on AS Level topics including Research Methods, Memory, Stress, Abnormality and Social Influence. Similarly, I have notes on A2 topics including Cognition and Development, Biorhythms and Sleep, Eating Behaviour, Depression, Psychological Research & Scientific Method and Addictive Behaviour. I also refer to videos, powerpoints and articles to mix up teaching methods and keep sessions interesting and motivating. I also have access to a wide range of practice papers and examiners’ reports which are invaluable exam preparation resources.

I have recently guided a tutee through her entire 12 months of AS Level preparation and I am pleased to say that she has decided to continue the subject at university.
Whatever your age, level or ability, I would be delighted to hear from you and help you achieve your academic potential in this fascinating subject.
