Stop the press! School of Everything Bread Making teacher Tom Baker (Yep, that's his real name) made the front cover of the Birmingham Post Magazine last week. Tom is a busy man because he is also one of the first teachers to have signed up to our new gift scheme. You can now buy a Bread Making lesson with Tom for one of your friends or family - the perfect Christmas present.

Open registration evenings at Big Smoke Writing Factory, 7 Lower Hatch Street, Dublin 2. Come along and sign up for a course in person or just talk to facilitators about what kind of thing might suit. Friday 11 September 6-9pm and Saturday 19 September 2-6pm.

I've been teaching for 6 years now and getting busier every year...until October 2008.

As a knitting teacher, Sept-Dec is my busiest time of the year...classes book up up to six weeks in advance. But Oct 08 was like a ghost town for Knitting SOS. My years finances have averaged out pretty healthy due to a couple of big jobs last Spring, but I'm noticing that I can't fill classes as easily as I was 12 months ago.

Has anyone else found this and do they have any suggestions to inspire people to learn?
