I have been teaching languages for over fourteen years and have always found it to be a deeply satisfying profession. As a French native speaker living in the UK, I know from personal experience that people require confidence and ability in a country’s language in order to interact fully and integrate into the society where they live, study or work. Therefore, I believe that teaching language and communication is the best way for me to support students in gaining such skills and making a difference for learners is central to my teaching philosophy.

Through training and professional practice, I have gained considerable experience of building learning programmes that take into account the needs and ideas of language students. I endeavour to incorporate differentiated teaching strategies and learning materials, including numerous ICT resources, in my lessons to respond to students’ individual needs.

I respect diversity and I always work at establishing a very good rapport with learners. In my teaching, I ensure that all students are treated fairly and I strive to promote the individuals’ right to choice and respect. I encourage my students to share their own experiences and draw on these to make the learning as relevant to their lives as possible. I also make sure that the learning resources that I use are representative of both genders, various ages, communities and cultural backgrounds so that all feel equally involved in the lessons.
