My name is Nicki and I'm a songwriter based in Brighton, UK. I play in a ukulele band and have experience in running ukulele jams (Brighton Ukulele Jam), teaching ukulele to individuals, small and large groups.

The tuition I offer is perfect for new players and includes - how to hold and strum your ukulele and play some basic chords. By the end of the session you will be able to play a song - guaranteed!

So whether its a 1-2-1, group session or team day out event you are after, please email me and you'll be ukulele-ing in no time at all.

Experience

Ukulele Teacher

I fell in love with the ukulele after visiting Hawaii in 2003. It's a wonderful instrument because its fun and easy to play. Since then I gave up the guitar to play the ukulele.

I ran the Brighton Ukulele Jam group 2009-2011 which involved leading the group through a variety of songs, making sure to include new and more experienced players. Often people would ask if I could spend time going over the basics before they joined the group >>>> So 'ucanukulele' was born.

In one lesson I will be able to teach you how to hold and strum your uke and play some chords - everyone I have taught is able to play a song by the end of the session. As a parting gift I will give you a chord table and copy of the song we've practiced and a new song, to encourage you to keep on playing. I can also give you information about ukulele jams happening in around sussex.

I am happy to teach children as long as they are motivated to learn - 7+ years preferably. I also hold an enhanced CRB.
