I have been practising meditation and mindfulness since the 1970's, and work as a meditation teacher, mentor and life-coach in the UK and abroad.
Mindfulness practice reveals and gives us more of a say in the narratives, reactions and beliefs with which we limit our lives, and cause ourselves so much pain and stress. Even a little mindfulness can transform life quite radically. It is a way of reclaiming one's life, moment by moment.
Although my meditation life began in a Buddhist setting, I have trained in the secular applications of Mindfulness with the University of Bangor's Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice, with Breathing Space, and with the Breathworks Foundation. As well as running stress and pain management courses in the Stroud/Gloucestershire area, I have developed and run mindfulness-based programs for quitting smokers.

Group Classes
Mindfulness Meditation: An eight week course
An eight-session course introducing a range of practices and helping you to make mindfulness (MBSR/MBCT) - and its benefits - part of your life.
Mindfulness is a way of paying attention to the present moment, using techniques like meditation, breathing and yoga. It helps us become more aware of our thoughts and feelings so that instead of being overwhelmed by them, we're better able to manage them.
One of several courses we're running in Cheltenham, Stroud and Bristol. See our website for details: www.mindfulness-west.com, or give us a call on 01453 883560
(It's good to wear loose, comfortable clothes. Unfortunately the course takes place in an upstairs room with no wheelchair access.)

A Morning of Mindfulness Practice
Join us for a morning of (lightly) guided mindfulness meditation. Whether you're new to mindfulness practice or a course graduate looking for a top-up, these sessions are a welcome tonic. The practices will include mindfulness of the breath, sounds and thoughts, a bodyscan, some walking meditation and the 'kindly awareness' practice.
After a tea break newcomers will have a chance to hear a little more about mindfulness and ask any questions about mindfulness or our courses
