Acoustic Guitar Techniques

Are you a beginner guitarist interested in writing music or playing your favourite pop/rock songs? Maybe you're an intermediate/advanced electric guitarist interested in accompanying your singing voice or writing more 'song-based' guitar music? I've developed a lesson that's perfect for you!
Within this lesson we will cover both 'strumming' and 'picking' rhythm styles in the context of chord-based rock, folk and popular music.
Using a 'lead-sheet' approach (reading a sheet containing chords, lyrics and melody lines), you will learn how to 'strum' classic songs by artists including 'The Beatles' and 'Van Morisson'. You will also learn how to use popular fingerstyle techniques like 'travis picking' and 'frailing' to play songs by artists including 'Simon & Garfunkel' and 'James Taylor'.
Whether you are new to guitar chords or are already familiar with basic 'open position' and 'barre' chords, we will cover a vocabulary of exciting new chord shapes. You will also discover how to work out chord names, make chords sound more interesting (by adding 'extended notes'), as well as learn the relationships between chords in any progression.
Most importantly, you will learn how to play great songs, accompany vocals and write your music.
