Saxophone Lessons
I started learning the saxophone a few years ago when one of my recorder pupils wanted to learn the instrument. I found that all the principles I have learned through my study of the flute are transferrable to the Saxophone and the things that are different I have mastered through careful study and experimentation.
As there is a demand for Saxophone teachers in my area I teach beginners and students up to Grade 5, however after that I encourage students to progress onto a specialist Saxophone teacher. I'm pleased to say that my first Saxophone student is now enrolled at the Junior School of The Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama where she will continue her lessons with some of the best teachers in the country.
Lessons take place every week during term time from my home studio. I have a good sense of humour and aim to make lessons varied, enjoyable and fun. I use an integrated approach to teach pieces, scales, aural skills, sight-reading and theory as everything is interconnected so none of these areas ever need to be neglected or left until the last couple of weeks before an exam.
