Intermediate Scratching (part 2)
In this lesson you will learn some more scratches that take a lot of coordination to get right but with crossfader techniques you will be able to scratch much faster than before.
THE LESSON
The scratches I will cover:
• Two-click flares
• Twiddle
• Crab
I will provide you with a handout at the end of the lesson to summarise everything that you've learnt.
EQUIPMENT
As in previous scratch classes:
• We will be using turntables.
• I will provide the 'scratch material' and good quality needles for the lesson. You’re welcome to bring your own records to scratch to (preferably no vocals).
• If you have your own decks I can travel to you or you can travel to me, whichever you’d prefer.
N.B. At this stage it’s extremely important for the mixer to have a smooth/loose crossfader that has a very sharp cut-in time. If you’re unsure about this get in touch and if your mixer isn’t suited then I can bring mine.
