Written by myself, this website is designed to guide you through the medieval and later history of St Andrew's and Blackfriars' Halls, Norwich. The Halls were built over 600 years ago, and today they represent the most complete English friary church and convent buildings to survive intact from the medieval period. Come and explore this landmark for yourself, and learn more about its fascinating history.

An Arts and Humanities Research Council funded website. It provides an overview of the Great Hospital, Norwich. Founded in 1249, the hospital is one of England's oldest surviving medieval hospital. The website is a teaching resource for Edexcel's GCSE, 'Medicine Through Time'.

The NLN Materials are small, flexible 'bite-sized' episodes of learning. They are not whole courses but are designed to support a wide range of subject and topic areas. They have been funded by the LSC and are available free to all authorised organisations in the post-16 sector.

Date and Venue:

This course will be held on 31st October 2009 at Bury Development and Training Centre, Seedfield site, Parkinson Street, Bury BL9 6NY. After this the course is held at every Saturday at various location of Manchester. This one-day course will run from approximately 9am to 5pm. Full joining instructions will be sent out to each delegate prior to each course.

Importance:

I work as a tutor at GCSE and A-level, in maths and the sciences. The problem is what to do to pay the bills in the summer holidays.

I have thought about tutoring the ‘Kent Test’ (which is the 11+ here) through the summer. I have been given differing opinions on this: some say it is easy and I should go for it, others say that it is so unlike tutoring the 15-18 age group that a very different style is needed and parent’s expectations are much higher of the tutor relative to the student given the latter are only 10 years old.

The Trust gives school students the opportunity to come and learn about archaeology, history and geography, working with leading academics in these fields and hopefully contributing to the ongoing process of research on this part of Cheshire:

A few months ago, a friend played me some remarkable recordings made by scientists at the Jodrell Bank Observatory, who had captured and made audible the "sound" of stars. I just discovered that these are available, with lots more information about how the recordings were made, on a recent edition of the observatory's JodCast:
