This is a short summary of the New Learning Adventure project which enabled U3A members to access University teaching and research, as well as facilities and resources, and enabled University academics to engage with a group of informed and interested older adults. Find out how the project worked, the lessons learnt, and what will happen next! A great example of a University/U3A partnership project that has achieved sustainability.
Resources for marketing

Let's do lunch
Other than in the very early days of School of Everything we've always worked in Bethnal Green in east London. That's mainly Geoff Mulgan's fault because he offered us some free office space in the Young Foundation building. It's a wonderful place, full of interesting projects and organisations and surrounded by a few cafes which we used to frequent on a regular basis.

NLN Materials
The NLN Materials are small, flexible 'bite-sized' episodes of learning. They are not whole courses but are designed to support a wide range of subject and topic areas. They have been funded by the LSC and are available free to all authorised organisations in the post-16 sector.

VIDEOS
Welcome to our video page. Here you’ll find a range of videos from social media, internet marketing, right through to lifestyles and relationship building. If you like the videos you can subscribe to our youtube channel and make a comment. Comments help the sites community engage and grow.

Must Read Social Media Books
Reading books has just got social. Social media that is. Having just done a search on social media books at Waterstones I found that they were 529 books with social media in the title. Examples include The social media bible and Social media goes corporate. If we take a moment and think about what the landscape was like a few years ago one could argue that most of the books would not have anything to do with social media.

Talking about a Learning Revolution
We've got some very good news. Over the next few months we're going to be working with Becta and the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (which usually gets shortened to BIS) to improve School of Everything and make it available to lots more people.

RNCM Saxophone Day
On November 15th 2009 the RNCM is hosting it's annual Saxophone Day, featuring masterclasses, workshops and concerts by world renowned saxophonists, such as Simon Willescroft, The National Saxophone Choir of Great Britain, Vincent David, Carl Raven and also a huge trade exhibition, featuring the leading UK and International saxophone manufacturers and retailers.

Composing Educational Resources
For some of us, the process of composing educational resources has come a long way from a blackboard, or borrowing books from a library, or photocopying handouts, or even creating slide presentations - for others, these methods remain necessary. Anyone who has had more than a superficial understanding of the Internet these days knows there are more resources and methods available to us now than at any other point in the history of education. For most people however, accessing and knowing how to use the Internet effectively prevents them from accessing this wealth of resources.

Policy of education
Together with Wolf we have defined the notion of EDUCATION, quite unexpectedly. Education is something that changes the human. Education is the circumstances, where the human is inclined to realize himself as a spiritual being. Education is the possibility to learn to become ANOTHER MYSELF. Education is the possibility to make use of a new MYSELF.
Come and teach in a tree!
If you go down to the park this summer, you might get a big surprise - at least if it's Regents Park in London.

Experimental College of the Twin Cities
A freeschool in Macalester and Minnesota

The Public School
A school with no curriculum. Teach yourself something new. This is exactly what School of Everything gets all excited about!
Experience start-up life
We're on the lookout for some great interns to join us over the summer at Everything HQ. According to Internsforyou.com this is what start-up life looks like:
We're not sure where they got that from. Compare and contrast with this photo of our CTO Pete (on a good day):

Interesting show-of-hands survey of a class: "How many of you like coming to school?" - c. 50% And my two favourite quotes: * "Being human is all about learning, it's the hallmark of humanity." Top ten PR tips for small businesses
Nice post from David Meerman Scott about online PR here:
http://www.webinknow.com/2008/05/top-ten-pr-tips.html
I don't know David, but I liked his statement: "I realized that sometimes there is value to top-of-mind ideas. Nuggets of value may be lost when you obsess over getting every detail perfect." Couldn't agree more.
Here's his list:
1. The old ways to get noticed were to buy expensive advertising and beg the media to write about you and your products. The best way to get noticed today is to publish great content online.
Unlimited Resources
Every member of School of Everything can add notes, links, videos, images, documents and other things to the site that help people learn or teach a particular subject. If you're learning, you can use it to keep track of your progress in your subjects and all the things that help you learn like useful websites or how-to videos.
If you're teaching, you can share useful resources and advice that you think will help people learn you subjects. You can tag each resource post with one or more subjects, and your posts will appear to other people looking for those subjects.
Don't be shy, say hello. We'd love to hear from you.
Stay safe
